I grew up in a small town called Rustenburg in the Northwest Province of South Africa. Most of the influence on my work stems from my childhood experiences and collections, both physical and mental. My father was a Geologist on the local platinum mines, though strangely enough, this was not what inspired me to study Jewellery Design. I first started studying BComm Marketing at the University of Stellenbosch in 2005 with the intention of entering the business world, but I soon realised that this was not my passion. Art was my passion. In 2006 I started a four year BA Jewellery Design course at the University of Stellenbosch.
I have finally found my passion in life and I would not exchange it for anything in the world. I love doing what I do. Creating innovative jewellery that speaks something of who I am, where I come from and what inspires me. Jewellery to me does not stop at engagement or wedding rings, it is about creating a wearable art piece that is different, innovative and most of all intriguing to the viewer and owner. Every piece has unique individuality and tells its own special story.
